The Watchers of Woodchester Mansion Adventure
This summer, Woodchester Mansion is inviting families to step into a world of imagination, mystery and play with a brand-new outdoor experience: The Watchers of Woodchester Mansion.
Running every Thursday (6th, 13th, 20th & 27th) throughout August, this exciting collaboration with immersive theatre specialists Rusticus promises an unforgettable day out where history meets storytelling and the landscape comes alive.
A Journey Beyond a Simple Visit
Families will begin their adventure in the grounds of Woodchester Mansion, where they’ll meet a curious Professor and their mysterious Assistant. What starts as a guided tour quickly transforms into something far more magical.
Inspired by the intricate carvings hidden throughout the Mansion – from gargoyles and beasts to creatures watching from the stonework – visitors are swept into an unfolding story that asks: what if these figures were more than decoration?
Guided by lively performers, families will journey through woodland and open spaces, meeting a series of unforgettable characters along the way – from a mischievous forest spirit to a fluttering butterfly and a playful bat. Each encounter brings interactive activities designed especially for children, blending creativity, movement and imagination with the landscape itself.
Children must be accompanied at all times by a paying adult. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on the adventure.
